Yes, and we would rather say so plainly than have you discover it later. Diederik's own path of deep healing was a spiritual one, and his study of A Course in Miracles shaped this work throughout.

What that does not mean: you will not be asked what you believe, no doctrine is taught, and nothing requires you to adopt anyone's faith. People of every tradition and none have worked the Six Steps, many of them describing themselves as skeptics when they started.

No, and we are careful about this. Choose Again is not clinical treatment and does not replace it. Our facilitators are trained in this specific method, and a session is that process rather than therapy.

If you are working with a therapist, keep working with them. A great many people do both, and they are not in competition.

Because insight and process are different things. Most people can describe their patterns with real accuracy and still repeat them by Thursday.

The Six Steps are a sequence you run yourself, in the moment it is happening. That is the piece most people are missing, and it is why so many of the accounts on our stories page begin with "I had already tried everything."

Not unless you choose to. In the monthly Open Circle many people only watch — and watching the Six Steps worked with somebody else is how most people learn them. On retreat, nobody is put on the spot.

Nor would we. The work starts with this week — a reaction you actually had — and goes back only as far as the belief requires, often to a single moment. This is not excavation. We are looking for one sentence, not for everything that ever happened to you.

Yes, and it is more common than you might expect. You do not both need to be equally ready. You do need to be willing to be in the same room while the honest thing gets said.

Then come alone. One person changing the pattern changes the pattern — you cannot make someone else willing, and the attempt is usually part of what is exhausting you.

Then talk to us first, before you send them anything. Most people who arrive worried about someone else are carrying something of their own alongside it — that is usually why the worry is so heavy.

No. We do not mediate and we do not referee. Each of you works on your own beliefs and reactions, which is the only part of a relationship anybody actually controls.

Never more than twelve people. That is a deliberate ceiling, not a capacity issue — beyond twelve, the room stops being safe enough for what people need to say.

The same method and the same facilitators. Costa Rica runs year-round at El Cielo above Lake Arenal. France is a single cohort each September and usually fills early.

Three months of online integration is included. That is the part most retreats leave out, and it is the reason people describe the change as holding rather than fading after a couple of weeks.

No. Plenty of people work entirely through the monthly Open Circle and one-on-one counseling, and never go anywhere. A retreat is the deepest version, not the only one.

The monthly Open Circle is pay-what-you-can — $25, $40 or $50, and all three are the same circle. Costa Rica retreats are offered on a sliding scale, all inclusive: $2,700, $4,050 or $5,400. France starts at $2,100 USD per week, all inclusive. Counseling rates are given plainly on your first conversation.

Because the work should not be limited to people with money. Choosing a higher tier helps cover somebody choosing a lower one. Nobody is asked to prove anything, and nobody is treated differently for the tier they pick.

Yes, for qualifying applicants. Choose Again USA is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit. If cost is genuinely the obstacle, say so — we will talk about it without embarrassment, and it will not change how you are treated.
